I want to make sure I have the latest version of Copernic Summarizer. Where can I get this information?

From the main menu, choose Tools/Check for Software Updates.

If the Web page related to Copernic product updates appears, you are not using the most recent version of the product. Simply follow the instructions indicated on the Web page to update your installation.

If, on the other hand, the message "You already have the latest version of Copernic Summarizer" appears, no update is necessary.

INSTALLATION AND SETUP

What are the minimum system requirements for installing Copernic Summarizer?

Operating System:	Microsoft Windows 95/98/Me/2000/XP
CPU:	Pentium 120 MHz or higher
RAM:	32 MB (minimum)
Hard Disk:	At least 15 MB of free disk space.

After Copernic Summarizer has been downloaded, how do I make it run?

Is it possible to change the language of the Copernic Summarizer user interface?

Though you can't change the language of the user interface after you install the program, you can download a different language version of the application from our Web site and install it. Copernic Summarizer summarizes texts in English, French, Spanish or German, however, the Copernic Summarizer interface is only available in English, French or German.

Be sure to select the language version that you want to install before initiating the download.

TROUBLESHOOTING

I need to reinstall Copernic Summarizer but I no longer have a copy. Where can I download a new copy of Copernic Summarizer?

I need to re-enter my registration number but I have lost it. What should I do?

The "Send Summary by E-mail" feature in Copernic Summarizer does not operate on my system. What can I do to fix this?

This feature uses MAPI (Messaging Applications Programming Interface). Follow the instructions applying to your e-mail client. We strongly recommend exiting all running applications before proceeding.

Start Internet Explorer.
On the Tools menu, click Internet Options, and then click the Programs tab.
In the E-mail, click Microsoft Outlook.
Click OK.

If you do not obtain the desired results, please note that you can export your summary to a file and e-mail it as an attachment.

While trying to summarize a PDF document, Copernic Summarizer displayed the following error message: "An error occurred
while opening the specified document. Either there was a problem while accessing the file or the file format cannot be processed
by Copernic Summarizer." Why can I not obtain a summary of the document?

Your document cannot be summarized for one (or more than one) of the following reasons:

The document requires a password to be opened.
The document's security settings do not allow text extraction. To view the file's security settings, open it with Adobe Acrobat Reader 4.0 and choose File / Document Info / Security from the Acrobat menu. If you use Adobe Acrobat Reader 5.0, open the file and choose File / Document Security from the Acrobat menu.
The document was encrypted in a nonstandard format.
The document contains a font type that Copernic Summarizer does not support (Type0, Type1 CID or Type3). To determine if the document contains fonts whose type is not supported, open it with Adobe Acrobat 4.0 and choose File / Document Info / Fonts from the Acrobat menu. If you use Adobe Acrobat 5.0, choose File / Document Properties /Fonts from the Acrobat menu.

Can Copernic Summarizer create summaries of Web pages that make use of frames?

Certainly. Documents that include frames can normally be summarized without any problems.

Copernic Summarizer can generate summaries of documents written in which languages?

The English, French and German versions of Copernic Summarizer can produce summaries of texts written in English, French, Spanish and German.
