Why do I need a myCopernic account?
myCopernic is the central point of access to all the web applications that are available in the myCopernic family and acts as the management center for all the services to which you are subscribed. You will be asked to create a myCopernic account once you purchase a Web service.
Why do I need to install the myCopernic connector?
myCopernic works with a software application installed on your computer that connects to the myCopernic servers in order to enable the service. It manages the communication between your computer's desktop search and the myCopernic servers.
What are the minimum requirements for the myCopernic connector?
- A computer with broadband access
- Microsoft Windows XP SP2 or higher (32-bits)
- A supported desktop search application
Can the connector be run on Windows Vista 64-bits?
The connector is not compatible with 64-bits operating systems. In order to run the connector on Windows Vista 64-bits, you will need to run it in compatibility mode for Windows XP Service Pack 2.
Is the Copernic Mobile application compatible with myCopernic services?
No. myCopernic services use a brand new platform that requires the myCopernic connector.
myCopernic connector cannot establish a connection. How can I resolve this?
If the connector is correctly installed and you have entered your username and password, but still cannot connect, please refer to the troubleshooting guide for possible causes.
Security
I'm concerned about the security of my data. Is this service secure?
Three levels of security are used for myCopernic :
- Your account is protected by a password that you are the only one to know. Accessing your data requires this password.
- myCopernic is hosted on an HTTPS site to ensure that all your activity is protected against eavesdropping.
- Communications between the myCopernic connector installed on your computer and our servers are encrypted using SSH protocol.
How can I change my password?
Log in to myCopernic and go to my Profile. From there, you will be able to change your password using the myself tab.
Is my data uploaded or saved to a server?
No. Your data will always stay on your personal computer. When data is transferred from your computer to a remote device, it is encrypted and will never be saved to a server.
