Why did Copernic create a Professional edition?
The Professional version of Copernic Desktop Search offers many unique
search and indexing features not available in the Home edition while the
enterprise-oriented Corporate version
adds network deployment, Intranet integration, and more. The Professional
version is designed for small & medium size business owners and professionals
that do not require large-scale deployment features.

How do I buy the Professional edition?
You can simply purchase online
using any major credit card, personal or
business check, wire transfer, purchase order, PayPal, etc.

Is the Professional edition a one-time purchase or a subscription?
It is a one-time purchase that includes free updates. Upgrades are not included.

Do you have a Value Added Reseller Program?

What is the difference between the Corporate, Professional and Home editions?
The Corporate and Professional editions are the only CDS versions eligible for
technical support assistance and use in the corporate and government environments,
there are several important differences between the Home, Professional and Corporate
editions. Please see the Compare editions page.

Can CDS be run off a server?
No. CDS is a desktop application designed to be installed on desktop computers.

Can CDS create a central index?
No. CDS creates a separate index for each user. It cannot be centralized.

Can CDS index shared or network drives?
Yes. CDS can index network drives mapped as a Windows folder.

What size company was CDS Professional designed for?
CDS Professional is designed for small & medium size business owners and professionals, such as lawyers, accountants, realtors, mortgage brokers, recruiters, etc.

Can CDS index alternative Outlook folders (like secondary contact folders)?
Yes. CDS indexes all contact folders.

Is Copernic Desktop Search available for the Mac or Linux?
No. At this time, CDS only works on the Windows platform.

Is Copernic Desktop Search compatible with Windows Vista?
Yes and even offers tight
integration with Windows Vista Service Pack 1.

What are the file types supported by the Professional edition?
CDS currently supports over 150 different file types
for indexing and previewing. It also supports adding file extensions to be indexed to better suit your needs.

In which language is CDS Professional available?
CDS Professional edition is available for purchase in English, French, German and Spanish.
Is there a maximum number of files and emails that I can index with Copernic Desktop Search?
No. There is no limit to the size of the index or the number of indexed items. However, a large index requires more memory and more time to
perform searches. So the only limit is the power of your computer (disk space, CPU speed). Also, note that the index contains multiple files
and that these files are each limited to 2GB in maximum size.

What versions will still receive technical support?
Technical support is only available to registered
customers of the Corporate and Professional editions.

What versions will be maintained and upgraded?
All three versions, Home, Professional and Corporate will be updated and upgraded.
