Where is search going?

With the amount of information created and saved every day, people need tools to organize their life. Currently, major search engines work mainly on ranking algorithms. What’s the goal of a search engine?

It is to provide users with the most relevant results for each searched terms.

Keyword-based search engine do work but up to a certain point. What happens if you need to perform a sub-sequent search on that initial search results? What happens if you are searching for the word Apple? However, you are not searching for the fruit but the company.

That’s where the semantic search comes in. Semantic search will improve the search result by understanding the user search behaviors and the searchable database. In other words, it will create a web of connection between the search behavior and the databases.

Will we see new search engines connecting user-identified searchable data?
